Duties & Responsibilities:
- Prepare “what to look for” checklists complete with standard procedures and instrumentation for the assessment of the condition of reservoir and overflow dams anchored on the need to predict potential facility collapse or damage;
- Formulate monitoring and assessment standards for the condition of dams and reservoirs useful in forecasting impending reservoir spillage and possible dam breach and forewarning the Center to launch forthright contingency measures;
- Establish technical and financial readiness for the prompt execution of remedial and corrective measures to control or correct sprouting failures or breaches to dams and appurtenant structures aimed at averting catastrophes;
- Interpret environmental and mining laws pertinent to protection and maintenance of the structural integrity of irrigation facilities like reservoir and overflow dams requisite to crafting and enforcing reinforcing and additional policies;
- Assemble operations and maintenance policies for barrages, sluicegates, spillways and headgates for input in devising guidelines aimed at averting incidences of accelerated accumulation of sediments in sumps and canals;.
- Perform other related functions.
