PBBM INAUGURATES P813-MILLION CALUNASAN SRIP IN BOHOL

NIA Region VII – President Ferdinand R. Marcos, Jr. and National Irrigation Administration (NIA) Administrator Engr. Eddie G. Guillen led the inauguration of the P813-million Calunasan Small Reservoir Irrigation Project (SRIP) in Calape, Bohol on September 5, 2025.

With water source from the Calunasan Creek, the project covers 300 hectares of agricultural land in the barangays of Calunasan, Abucayan Sur, Lucog, and Bentig, benefitting 400 farmers and their families. It is expected to boost agricultural productivity, improve the lives of the farmers, and strengthen food security in the region.

The inauguration program included a ceremonial ribbon-cutting and unveiling of the project marker. Department of Agriculture (DA) Secretary Francisco P. Tiu Laurel, Jr., NIA Region VII officials, headed by Regional Manager Engr. Eusebio S. Villamanto, local government officials, officers of various Irrigators’ Associations (IAs), and farmer-beneficiaries were present to celebrate this milestone achievement.
