Duties & Responsibilities:
- Plan/organize/coordinate the collection and analyses of data/information pertinent to the conduct of environmental impact assessment of irrigation development projects and social environmental assessment and developments particularly on matters addressing involuntary resettlement, woman participation, and indigenous people for irrigation development projects;
- Coordinate the development of procedures and guidelines to ensure social safeguards in irrigation development projects and as an input to the formulation of the corporate environmental policies and strategies;
- Assist/Support the field offices/projects in the acquisition of environmental compliance certificates and other necessary clearances/permits;
- Plan/Organize and coordinate the monitoring and evaluation of environmental management plans and compliance to the conditionality of clearances/permits like the ECC;
- Organize/Coordinate the conduct of environmental auditing of on-going and completed irrigation development projects;
- Organize in-house trainings and technical assistance for the Field Offices or Irrigators Associations and other units on environmental and social concerns of irrigation developments;
- Participate/Assist in the review and formulation of corporate environmental policies and strategies; and
- Perform other related functions.
