Direct and coordinate the technical and administrative functions of the section;
Plan, direct, and supervise the review of studies and reports on land resources, agricultural and hydrologic studies, and groundwater investigations to determine the technical viability/feasibility of all irrigation projects;
Plan and coordinate the establishment, operation, and maintenance of surface and groundwater monitoring stations for long- and short-term hydrologic and meteorologic data and hydrologic data collection.
Direct the review of studies on surface and groundwater resources to assess their occurrence, availability, quality, and dependability for irrigation development and other uses;
Direct the review of studies to determine hydrologic parameters necessary in the design of project facilities;
Direct/review the evaluation of Terms of Reference (TOR), Program of Work (POW), Inception Reports, VE/VA Reports, Progress Reports, Interim Reports, and Feasibility Study Reports (Draft and Final), prepared through outsourcing of proposed irrigation projects specifically on the Soil & Land Classification, Agriculture, Surface Water Hydrology, and Groundwater Hydrology aspects;
Direct/review the conduct of technical assistance to proponents (RIO/IMO/LGUs), particularly for soil & land classification, agriculture, surface water hydrology, and groundwater hydrology aspects; and
Perform other related functions, meetings, and seminars.
