MAGAT DAM, Isabela – Matagumpay na natapos ng National Irrigation Administration (NIA), Department of Agriculture – Bureau of Soils and Water Management (DA‑BSWM), at Philippine Air Force (PAF) ang Cloud Seeding Operations sa Magat Reservoir and Watershed sa Isabela ngayong araw, Agosto 26, 2026. Ang operasyon, na isinagawa sa loob ng isang buwan at may kabuuang 30 flight hours, ay bahagi ng agarang tugon ng pamahalaan sa matinding epekto ng El Niño sa sektor ng agrikultura, na may pondo mula sa Department of Agriculture – National Rice Program. Ngayong araw, naitala ang water level ng Magat Dam sa 178.50 meters above sea level (masl). Ito ay malaking pag‑angat mula sa 159.76 masl noong Hulyo 16, 2026, ang pinakamababang water level ng Magat Dam ngayong taon. Sa kasaysayan ng Magat dam, ang pinakamababang elevation na naitala ay 149.75 masl noong Marso 28, 2010.  Ang kasalukuyang pagtaas ng lebel ng tubig ay nagbigay ng mas malaking kapasidad para sa operasyon ng irigasyon sa Isabela at mga karatig‑probinsya. NIA Central Office – Mahigpit na binabantayan ng National Irrigation Administration (NIA) ang lebel ng tubig sa Pantabangan Dam sa Nueva Ecija at Magat Dam sa Isabela, kasunod ng umiiral na Southwest Monsoon o Habagat at epekto ng patuloy na pag-ulan sa maraming bahagi ng bansa. Batay sa Daily Water Level Report ng NIA Central Office Command Center, naitala ngayong Agosto 18, 2026, 8:00 ng umaga, ang water level ng Magat Dam sa 178.27 meters above sea level (masl). Ito ay bahagyang mas mataas kumpara sa 178.01 masl noong Agosto 15, 177.94 masl noong Agosto 16, at 178.06 masl noong Agosto 17. Samantala, ayon sa ulat ng NIA ngayong araw, ang Pantabangan Dam ay may water level na 187.72 masl, mula sa 186.10 masl noong Agosto 15, 186.56 masl noong Agosto 16, at 187.23 masl noong Agosto 17. Magat Dam, Isabela — Sustained rainfall from cloud seeding operations and monsoon rains enhanced by recent weather disturbances, including Tropical Storm Maymay, have pushed the water elevation at the Magat Dam – Luzon’s largest watershed – past its critical water level, offering relief to farmers after several weeks of dry conditions caused by El Niño. As of August 6, 2026, Thursday, Magat Dam recorded an elevation of 166.44 meters above sea level (masl), steering clear of the 160 masl critical water level that could have put at risk at least 12,000 hectares out of this irrigation system’s total programmed area of 96,000 hectares. The reservoir dipped on July 15 to as low as 159.76 masl, its trough for 2026 amid the drought. NIA MIMAROPA – A new chapter in agricultural development begins for farmers in the Municipality of Aborlan, Palawan as the National Irrigation Administration (NIA) formally inaugurated the Ibato-Iraan Small Reservoir Irrigation Project (SRIP) on July 23, 2026. President Ferdinand R. Marcos, Jr. and NIA Administrator Engr. Eddie G. Guillen led the ceremony, emphasizing the national government's commitment to strengthening the country's irrigation infrastructure and supporting Filipino farmers. Recognized as the largest irrigation project in the Province of Palawan and the island's first reservoir-type irrigation system, the Ibato-Iraan SRIP is set to provide year-round irrigation water supply to 1,072 hectares of agricultural land across the barangays of Sagpangan, Iraan, and Isaub. The project is expected to benefit 425 farmers and their families by increasing farm productivity, improving crop yields, and enhancing household incomes. For years, farmers in the area have relied on unpredictable rainfall, making every planting season uncertain.
